Internationalization Policy of Baku Eurasian University

The internationalization policy of Baku Eurasian University is guided by the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Education", the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023", the "Charter" of the University and the "Strategic Development Program" of the University. , includes ensuring the integration of its activities in the field of scientific and international relations to the international world and sustainable, dynamic and balanced development.

1.BAAU’s mission

Taking into account universal values, BAAU educates a highly educated citizen who develops worldly knowledge, skills and habits required for individual well-being, has free research skills and independent thinking, who considers the development of the state, country, and people as a priority. BAAU views higher education, which it forms and teaches, as a wealth that creates not only material, but also spiritual value. The graduate educated by the university is formed as a socialized personality with critical thinking and teamwork skills, in other words, with "soft skills". BAAU views the education it provides as an "eternal engine" that builds values or value systems that do not erode over time, providing lifelong advantage. These values formed in the graduates constitute the main mission and core of higher education. As a center of education, upbringing, science and culture, BAAU fulfills the intellectual, cultural and spiritual development of every person, higher education and qualification requirements, organization of the training process at a high level, conducts scientific research, training and certification of highly qualified personnel, etc. It pays special attention to the quality indicators, comprehensiveness and competitiveness of education in accordance with the challenges of the modern era, the demands of the labor market, the State Strategy for the development of education and the development concept of our country.

3. BAAU at the international level

Internationalization is one of the important conditions for increasing the university's attractiveness: it ensures the advancement of the university in the international, scientific and educational rankings, enables its recognition in the international education market, and enables the application of innovative technologies in the educational process. The internationalization of the university also includes the balanced centralization of international cooperation, the establishment of a multi-faceted international cooperation system (both at the inter-university level and between individual faculties and departments).

BAAU's participation in international projects in recent years has achieved a certain development in the direction of internationalization of the university. However, the dynamism of higher education, the effects of the globalization process and the challenges of the modern era push the university to more active activities in this field.

Taking into account the strategic goals of Azerbaijan in the field of education, BAAU expands cooperation in the field of science and education with prestigious higher education institutions of the world. During the 28 years of its activity, the university has achieved certain successes in the field of science and education. One of the main goals on the way to internationalization is international recognition of achievements in the field of science and education. For this, it is necessary to establish international strategic cooperation. Based on this, the university supports the establishment of relations between its academic staff and researchers with the academic staff and researchers of the world's prestigious higher education institutions.

One of the main forms of internationalization is the university's participation in international interuniversity organizations. This is one of the necessary conditions for the implementation of large scientific projects. In order to make the results of joint projects more productive, BAAU pays more attention to this area.

Attracting new partners to effective and productive cooperation relations in the field of teaching, scientific research, personnel and experience exchange and forming an environment of mutual trust, organizing international double diploma programs jointly with prestigious foreign higher education institutions for specialized programs needed by the country, membership in international educational organizations and development of relations

2. Expansion of exchange programs

Signing agreements with new partners within the framework of Erasmus+ and Mevlana exchange programs, attracting foreign faculty staff and students, encouraging academic, administrative staff and students of the University to exchange programs and increasing the number of participants

3. Involvement of foreign students

Increasing the number of programs with English as the language of instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels of higher education, ensuring the integration of international perspectives, global issues and intercultural competence into educational programs to prepare students for the global labor market, ensuring international accreditation of educational programs, teaching in English by academic staff developing their skills, increasing cooperation with educational companies abroad, creating favorable conditions for their education and living in the country in order to attract talented foreign students, providing support services and scholarships, participating in international education exhibitions.
